“Damn…what a text! Hmm, quite interesting. I’ve read everything, and I can only say that I’d love to see all of this being demonstrated live. But what I’m sure of is that we’re falling behind in basketball because we’re falling behind in innovation and courage. I trained in basketball until I was 18, and all the coaches who scouted and led us were amateurs, but they were teachers — both in basketball and in life. I’m absolutely in favor of trying something new, of opening up new perspectives and directions in building and coaching basketball — and why shouldn’t that start with us? Nowadays, we generally live in a time of copying rather than originality… so why not try something new and different like what Halilović offers? When I come to Zagreb, I’d love to see it all.”
“Excellent text, Rusmir must accept all of this, the Croatian expert council should enable you to implement it over a certain period with the national team that you propose. The project was born in Zagreb. It would also be good if it starts right from there in our basketball world. The system is ahead of its time and sooner or later it will spread around the world, regardless of local support or destruction.”
“I think this project of yours could significantly help not only Croatia, but also Balkan and basketball as a whole, of course if there are people willing to understand and accept it properly. Take Croatia as an example. In what has Croatia been the best in Europe 5 times? In club basketball it has (Jugoplastika 3X, Cibona 2X). That means the potential is there, within reach, we just need to find the ‘tool’ to discover it and ‘polish’ it, and the Basketballplus platform is exactly that.”
“Rusmir, I think you are one of the greatest minds we’ve had. I grew up on the shoulders of giants… and you are one of them indirectly. I will surely find time to visit you in Zagreb. With great respect and a huge greeting.”
“I have already written to you several times that I am happy to know you and that you are still thinking about the progress of Croatian basketball and patenting new ways of training. …My way of thinking is not always the same as yours. A person should always be eager for new knowledge and success like you, and that is one of the guiding principles of the meaning of our life, that is, of what we do – permanent improvement. …It is hard for me to write everything that I would like to discuss with you. That is why I wrote to you that I am looking forward to our upcoming meeting in Zagreb.”
“You are right about everything. But in the end, all individual technique, in order to give a real result in 1-on-1 play, and especially 5-on-5, depends on character. A player with character and weaker technique will be a much better player than someone with great technique but no character! You know yourself how many such examples there have been. This is just my small observation. Your project is a fantastic idea! Now it just needs to be turned into reality! Bravo!”
“I have read it carefully. My opinion is that your intention is of major importance and that it should be put into use as soon as possible for all who really want to learn. I hope you have nothing against me posting this article in both WhatsApp groups – JUG koš. and SRB koš.”
“I have read it… I congratulate you on your persistence and the enormous effort you have put in all these years in the interest of the development of basketball…, with the wish that your approach to the development of players and coaches, as well as to the future of the game of basketball, will finally be recognized and adopted as a necessary systemic project in the development of sport as a whole…”
“Congratulations, you are truly a master of your craft and, most importantly, recognized as an excellent expert in the basketball world. I wish you much more success in the New Year 2026, and above all, good health — which for us at this age is not just an empty phrase.”
“…I’m glad I had the pleasure of being part of your enthusiasm and education. I remember you suggested I go for a psychological-psychiatric check-up and I did it, thanks to you. The results were incredible and they had to call my parents to tell them the results after 10 days of testing. The result was the highest IQ ever measured in Sarajevo….Still I think I’m more successful in my job than the best basketball players of our era. You helped me significantly with that and thank you!”
“I agree with most things where you argue about the real causes of the decline of Croatian basketball. It’s about time someone finally takes responsibility. The system is obviously outdated, and forcing results at the expense of development has destroyed too much potential… When it all comes down to it, changes are needed…”
“Ruse, I sincerely congratulate you with full respect. I didn’t comment on the previous post because I was traveling and missed it. Probably now, through a scientific approach and research, you’ve managed to sublimate your experiences and ideas… Everything looks meaningful, comprehensive, and logical… What an original approach!! Once again, congratulations and I wish you full recognition for all those years of selfless work for the future of basketball…”
“…everything super as always, unfortunately, that doesn’t fly with us. Personally, I think basketball in the region, and even in Europe, is going really downhill… Among other things, there are no more experts, connoisseurs, basketball enthusiasts like you and others from those older generations. Today anyone who started with basketball yesterday thinks they know everything and doesn’t need to learn, listen…”
“Coach, I read your works related to Mental Basketball and I am absolutely a supporter of all innovative solutions that can help improve basketball. Education and new knowledge must be our guide. But who to present it to, when we have clubs without vision. I think that’s the biggest problem of Croatian basketball. We will always have potential – talents but without expertise it’s hard to turn it into quality.
Keep it up. I hope you’ll find an environment that will recognize your qualities.”
