In an effort to accelerate the growth of the Basketballplus Project, the team has been bolstered by the addition of a Project Coordinator. The chosen candidate is Nikola Nick Kovačević, a man with a wide range of skills and talents.
Although Nick trained and played football until junior age, his love for basketball blossomed in 1992. This was sparked by the first televised broadcast of the NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and the Portland Trailblazers, followed by the Croatian National Team’s historic run to the Olympic finals that same summer against the USA Dream Team. It was then that he picked up a basketball for the first time, and he hasn’t put it down since.
Nick’s basketball experience has been more on an amateur level, playing on courts around Zagreb and in recreational leagues. His professional career has taken him on diverse paths, from being a youth coach at Cibona (“Vučići”), to working as a banker, an English teacher in China, and finally landing in IT as a web design and administration specialist, video editor, and graphic designer.
